OpenAI today unveiled its most ambitious model yet: GPT‑Mom, an artificial intelligence system designed to simulate the full emotional experience of having an over-involved, slightly passive-aggressive mother who has just discovered read receipts. The announcement comes amid an AI arms race where every company is racing to replace workers, creativity, and now, apparently, childhood.
